Anchorage Folk Festival
Friday-Saturday-Sunday; Various times and locations throughout Anchorage
The 2025 Anchorage Folk Festival includes two full weekends of live performances, workshops, dances and jams. The first weekend includes main stage performances on Friday at Wendy Williamson Auditorium featuring first weekend headliner AJ Lee & Blue Summit. On Saturday, there will be workshops and more main stage performances plus the headliner will perform at Bear Tooth Theatrepub. Tickets for that performance are $27.
Sunday’s slate includes a number of workshops and main stage performances at the Wendy as well as a raffle drawing.
Folk week runs from Monday through Friday next week with performances at UAA, Middle Way Cafe, Hearth Artisan Pizza, and more plus the Barn Dance and Cajun Ball on Thursday at the Spenard Community Rec Center. Tickets for the dance are $20.

International Guitar Night
7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday; Discovery Theatre, 621 W 6th Ave.
The annual performance returns to Anchorage bringing a new group of guitar masters to the stage. This edition features Lulo Reinhardt, Niwel Tsumbu, Alexandra Whittingham and Sönke Meinen. Tickets range from $48.50-$63.25.
Anchorage Symphony’s “Portraits”
7:30 p.m. Saturday; Atwood Concert Hall, 621 W 6th Ave.
Described as “an elegant tribute to France’s heritage, a poignant homage to the Civil Rights Movement,” this show includes selections from Maurice Ravel, Margaret Bonds and more. Tickets range from $27.50-$52.50.
Alaska Electronic Orchestra
4 p.m. Sunday; UAA Fine Arts Building, 3700 Alumni Drive
The performance titled “Chi” will highlight multi-instrumentalist Yngvil Vatn Guttu and visual artist Sharlene Cline. Tickets are $30.
Travel Secrets 2.0
6 p.m. Wednesday; Alaska Aviation Museum, 4721 Aircraft Drive
This special gathering of frequent travelers features information on deals for heading out of state as well as curated in-state experiences. There will also be special prizes and Moose’s Tooth pizza and drinks. Tickets are $30.
