Letters to the Editor

Letter: PFDs and voting

I disagree with David Stutzer’s proposal to require citizens to vote in order to receive a Permanent Fund dividend (ADN letter to the editor, April 12). This would result in a great number of people going to the polls who are uninterested and uninformed. I can picture them hurrying in, filling in an oval or two and hurrying back to their cars.

Without the PFD enticement, these people would normally not have voted. That is as it should be; personally, I don’t believe that uninterested and uninformed persons should vote.
