I am saddened and deeply disappointed by the Anchorage School District’s recent proposal to close Tudor Elementary. Like many families, we moved into our neighborhood with the hope that our children could walk to school, grow up with a sense of community, and enjoy the unique benefits of a neighborhood school. With Tudor Elementary on the proposed closure list, this vision is in jeopardy — not only for my family, but also for countless others who invested here for similar reasons.
I urge the district to reconsider and explore alternatives that protect the unique value Tudor brings to our community.
