During a cold spell last winter, Enstar warned there may not be enough natural gas to meet demand in Southcentral Alaska, and to make it through the crisis the company may have to ask its customers to turn down their thermostats a few degrees. It’s now widely known that Southcentral Alaska may not have enough gas as soon as 2027, and needs to quickly solve that problem with some very expensive options, like importing LNG and/or subsidizing more drilling and production in Cook Inlet. To slow down this fast-approaching crisis, and give more time to develop a good solution, why is Enstar not NOW asking its customers to turn down their thermostats? Also, to save gas and money, perhaps Enstar can give each of its customers nice, warm sweater.
