Sadly, despite the actions of Sens. Murkowski, Collins and McConnell, Pete Hegseth was confirmed as secretary of defense. As a military family, we were beyond appalled that within hours of his appointment, Hegseth violated important military protocol and announced the names and rank of the three military members involved in the recent aviation tragedy BEFORE next of kin were notified. This is a perfect example of the gross effect of placing a totally unqualified person in such an important position. Existing military members and their families must be horrified, wondering what else can happen, what other rules will be violated. Thank you, Sen. Murkowski, for doing right by America, our military members and families. Too bad too few other senators would join you.
Today we find ourselves again, PLEADING with our senators to vote NO on Patel, Gabbard and Kennedy — for all the same reasons, i.e. incompetence, lack of understanding (or acceptance) of the purpose and role of public service, absolutely no pertinent experience, and in all three cases, evidence of being morally and ethically unfit for any U.S. cabinet position.
Each of these three, under this leadership and in this congressional environment, has the capacity to do irreparable harm to Americans.
