Letters to the Editor

Letter: Staying silent through the chaos

Tiptoeing through Trump and Musk’s craziness by remaining still, silent (the way prey animals do), praising or sane-washing their obvious illegal behaviors are understandable at first blush because of the violence threatened toward anyone who stands in their way. At some point, though, these protective strategies become less understandable. As the damage done mounts, sitting back quietly will inevitably raise questions of cowardice.

Where have the level-headed, honorable leaders of men gone? Leaders who respect the people, the U.S. Constitution and our Democratic Union? Seemingly hiding while Trump and his all but jackbooted henchman run rampant through our government, wreaking havoc, I hope they are actually huddled together planning to take back our once proud country.

— Michael Boshears, Palmer
